South Korea is set to welcome skilled workers from Bangladesh, as announced by the Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOSEL). The registration process for participation in the Korean language examination, aimed at recruiting manpower for the country’s industrial sector, has been officially initiated.

On February 15, BOSEL issued a circular detailing the registration process. This time around, South Korea plans to accept over 43,000 skilled workers. According to the notification, a total of 43,052 candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the Korean language test in two phases, as per the requirements of HRD Korea.

30,652 candidates will be selected for various industries including manufacturing, construction, and shipbuilding, while an additional 12,400 individuals will be chosen through a lottery system, primarily from the manufacturing sector. Candidates are allowed to apply for only one stage; applying for two stages will result in cancellation of registration.

Application Qualifications:

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding the Korean language.
• Educational Qualification: SSC/Equivalent.
• Age limit: 18 to 39 years (Date of birth should be between February 20, 1985, to February 20, 2006).
• Valid passport until February 20, 2024.
• Name, date of birth, and photo must match with passport and national identity card information.
• Interest in 3D (Dirty, Difficult, and Dangerous) work.
• Practical experience, including training, in manufacturing industries, shipbuilding, construction, and fisheries.
• Free of color blindness or visual impairment.
• Elegance in dress, manners, and conversation.

Ineligible Candidates:

• Persons diagnosed with drug addiction/syphilis.
• Persons currently in prison or undergoing punishment for a criminal offense.
• Individuals illegally staying in South Korea.
• Persons prohibited from leaving the country.

Application Process: Interested candidates can apply online via the website https://eps.boesl.gov.bd/.

Application Deadline: Candidates can apply from February 20, 2024, until February 21, 2024, at 5 PM. The results of the selected candidates through the lottery will be published on March 7.
